Mariah Whelan (UK) is a writer, researcher and teacher from Oxford, UK. She is the author of the love i do to you which was shortlisted for the Melita Hume Prize and won the AM Heath Prize. Mariah holds degrees from the Queen’s University of Belfast, The University of Oxford and is completing her PhD at the University of Manchester where she also lectures in Creative Writing. In 2018, Mariah was named one of the 50 Best New Irish and British poets by Maggie Smith and her work has been published in Aesthetica, the Poetry Book Society Website and The Irish Literary Review amongst others.

As a teacher with eight years’ experience, I can offer classes in: Creative Writing (poetry, prose and creative non-fiction); professional writing and Literary Studies.

I am used to working with a variety of different students from complete beginners trying to find their voice to more experienced writers looking for detailed feedback.

I can also offer bespoke classes on developing your writing career, publishing and using social media to promote your work.
